Amy Leung, cello

Amy Leung, cello - she really does look like that when she plays, and better still, she sounds like that, passionate, sensitive, thoroughly involved. I like to play with musicians who play with "vulnerability" - I think it was Betty Hauck who told me that vulnerability was what Mark Morris looked for in his dancers. It is a goal in polar opposition to the goal of "impeccability" which appears to characterize most classical musicians.

I listened back to the rehearsal of the Brahms clarinet trio with Amy and Ben Redwine, and it was so good, I posted it on the website. Here it is:

Allegro
Adagio
Andante grazioso
Allegro
